Color TV Game (CTG) (1997-1980)
Nintendo’s Color TV Game series was Nintendo’s first set of home video game consoles. There were 5 versions of Color TV Systems. The first was the Color TV Game 6 (pictured) it had six variations of pong. The controllers were small dials attached to the system. The second was the CTG 15 which had 15 slightly different versions of pong; it sold 1 million units in the year it was released. The CTG 15 was also the first CTG to have cabled controllers. The third was the CTG 112 Racing which featured a racing game in which the controller was a steering wheel with a gear stick. Two other controllers could be connected for multi-player games. The fourth was GTG Block Kuzushi, it was a one player game based on Breakout. Again the controller was a dial attached to the system. The Fifth and last was the Computer TV Game, it was Nintendo’s last non-cartridge system until the GameCube. It was only released in Japan. It was a port of the Nintendo arcade game Computer Othello.
