Game Boy Advance SP (2003)
The Game Boy Advance SP is a hardware redesign of the Game Boy Advance. It offers a backlit flip top screen, a button for switching off the backlight and user replaceable rechargeable battery. The GBA SP takes just 3 hours to recharge and offer 10 hours of play. Like the GBA the GBA SP is backwards compatible with all previous Game Boy software and also links up to the GameCube. If you choose to turn the Screen Backlight off then the GBA SP offers 18 hours of play. The only downside to the GBA SP is the lack of a headphone socket but, there is an optional adapter available for headphones.
