Mega CD (1992)
The Mega CD was an expansion system for the Mega Drive. It allowed the Mega Drive to play games from CDs. The Mega CD also played normal music CDs. The Mega CD connects to the Mega Drive through the slot on the side of the console. It was a good system but Sega decided to use FMV (Full Motion Video) in their games. There wasnt a good video quality and there was less user interaction. Due to the lack of user interaction people thought it was frustrating to play games on the Mega CD. Most games on the Mega CD didnt sell that well because of the bad publicity about the violence in them. The Mega CD was also a very expensive system and not many gamers were willing to fork out for it.
